FAQ

How do I know my audio interface is connected?

On the Pedalboard page, set Source to Mic / Interface, then choose your device in the Input device list. The status line under the controls shows the device name, whether it is live, sample rate, and an input meter. Browser permission is required before device names appear.

I only see “Demo tone” - where is my interface?

Click Start Audio, switch source to Mic / Interface, and allow microphone access when the browser asks. After that, refresh the device list if needed. Use Chrome on desktop for the most reliable device labels.

Will this work with a guitar?

Yes - plug your guitar into an audio interface, select that input in BOARD, and set monitoring in your OS or interface so you hear the browser output (headphones on the interface is ideal to avoid feedback).

How do I share my board?

Tap Share on the Pedalboard. BOARD copies a link that encodes your pedal order, types, knobs, and bypass state. Opening the link rebuilds that chain in the browser - nothing is stored on a server.

How do I install BOARD as an app?

Use the Install button, or:

  • Chrome / Edge: menu → Install BOARD / Install page
  • Safari on iPhone/iPad: Share → Add to Home Screen
  • Safari on Mac: File → Add to Dock

Why does audio stop when I switch tabs?

Some browsers suspend AudioContext in background tabs. Switch back to BOARD and tap Start Audio again if needed.
